AJAX, AMAZULU IN STALEMATE

AmaZulu failed to pick maximum points against Ajax on their first league match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
The visitors got an early chance in the fifth minute when Zambian striker Clifford Mulenga’s cross found Tashreeq Morris at the far post, but headed it into the hands of AmaZulu goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini.
Usuthu dominated the game but failed to break through the Urban Warriors defence. The hosts were forced to make substitution in the 32nd minute with Tsepo Liphoko replacing Nkosinathi Mthiyane.
On the 88th minute Ajax was forced to play with ten men after their captain Nazeer Allie got a red card and the first player to be sent off in the new season.
The other match saw Bloemfontein Celtic and Mpumalanga Black Aces beginning their league campaign with a one-all-draw at the Free State Stadium.
Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro scored the first goal of the match beating Patrick Tignyemb from almost impossible angle to put Aces ahead.
Amazayoni had another chance to extend their lead early in the second half when Celtic failed to clear the ball from a corner kick, but Zamuxolo Ngalo failed to convert.
In the second stanza, Phunya Selesele introduced Tumelo Mogapi and Lerato Lamola to influence the game.
Lamola made a vital impact producing the cross from left side forcing a mistake between Eric Murambadoro and defence, Joel Mogorosi slaughtered it home to secure his side a point.
Aces will take on Kaizer Chiefs while Celtic host Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening.
In the other matches, the reigning PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns, played a one all draw against Maritzburg United on Friday.
The Saturday matches saw the new kids on the block, Chippa United being getting a surprise victory over Platinum Stars while SuperSport United lost by 1-0 against Bidvest Wits.
Chiefs narrowly edged Free State Stars by 1-0 goal, league champions played one all draw against Maritzburg United on Friday. The survival of the playoffs Polokwane City, got a slender win beating University of Pretoria by 1-0.
The Chilli Boys are at the top of the PSL table after the first round of matches.
