Bafana Bafana faces Sudan on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in a qualifier for the 2015 African Cup of Nations Championships.
Leading group A after four games, the South African national team need three points to book a place in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
The side have scored five goals but have yet to score one at home after playing out nil all draws against Nigeria and most recently with Congo.
Midfielders Dean Furman and Mandla Masango believe that they can score for the first time at home in the run up to AFCON 2015.
Furman said although they have not scored a home goal yet, they showed that they are capable of scoring.
“We are definitely creating chances, it’s only the matter of time before the goals come,” he said.
“In the last training sessions, we worked on our attacking play.”
The English based player exclaimed that all his team mates are feeling confident as they are hoping to get goals on Saturday.
“We know we have great quality in our team and we have to go out there fully positive and make sure we attack from the start and hopefully get goals to change the game in our favour,” said the Doncaster Rovers and Bafana central midfielder.
The team realises the task ahead, as they last qualified in 2008 and played as host in 2013’s tournament.
Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana right winger Masango said they have not won a game at home but they will be set to impress in Durban, although they are under pressure.
“We strive on pressure. For the fact that we are currently on top of the log, there is pressure,” he said.
“We have to make sure that we go out there prepared for whatever circumstances may present themselves.”
“The most important thing is to get a win whether 1 – 0, 2 – 0, 3 – 0, it doesn’t matter as long as we get a win,” the 25-year-old concluded.
After their encounter against Sudan this weekend, the team will face Nigeria in their last qualifying clash at Uyo International Stadium, Nigeria on Wednesday, November 19.
