Kaizer Chiefs is expected to part ways with Coach Ernst Middendorp at the end of the season. One prominent name Benni McCarthy has joined the queue to take over.
It has been broadly stated that the German’s days at Naturena are numbered. Already two names have emerged as possible replacements. Talks behind the scenes are kept private.
The Siya Crew reported last week that the German mentor has additionally made the list to coach somewhere.
According to insiders, Middendorp is being linked with Ajax Cape Town (Urban Warriors). The Urban Warriors began their search for someone to completely take over the reigns after coach Andries Ulderinks messy departure in January.
Benni McCarthy turned down an offer from Ajax to replace the Dutchman seven months ago. Reports have emerged that the coach is flirting with Chiefs. Chiefs are yet to openly discuss Middendorp’s future to avoid disrupting the flow for the remainder of the season.
The other top coach associated with a move to Naturena is Gavin Hunt. The mentor is a league winner of four championships. Hunt will be soon without a job as Bidvest Wits has been officially sold to businessman Masala Mulaudzi.
The Siya Crew reported that McCarthy is currently in Scotland looking for opportunities abroad. Home is the place the heart is. A call from Kaizer Chiefs would be attractive.
