Bobby Motaung suspended
A video of Kaizer Chiefs manager, Bobby Motaung, has been circulating around on social media showing him breaching the Covid-19 rules and regulations.
This video shows Motaung, having a party with his friends during lockdown period. Kaizer Chiefs has opted to suspend him with immediate effect up to 31 August 2020. According to the statement issued by the team management, he is not allowed to accompany, participate to any training session or scheduled matches of the team.
This is the result of his recklessness, jeopardising the health of the team. After thoroughly investigation, conducted by the team, a conclusion of suspension was reached. He is meant to isolate and quarantine himself at home, although he tested negative for Covid-19. The club said, this is supposed to be a lesson to players, staff members and management to follow the rules put in place for Covid-19.
Following the videos, members of the public were left debating about the decision taken by the club against Motaung. Some voiced out, that Bobby suspended himself in order to avoid the media and the public.
Ntethelelo Mashagana, posted on the Facebook page of the team, claiming that ANC could learn a thing from Kaizer Chiefs. He said, “If ANC, could also take notes from the teams’ decisions”.
The club spokesperson, Vina Maphosa said, “The club reaffirms its stance to all stakeholders of our commitment to play an exemplary role to assist in the fight against the spread of the pandemic”.
