CHELSEA DEMOLISH ARSENAL – BPL ROUND UP

Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea demolished Arsenal 6-0 to maintain their lead at the summit on Saturday.
Early goals from Samuel Eto’o, Andre Schurrle – with just seven minutes of play – put the home side ahead. Eden Hazard and Oscar’s goals put Chelsea on a commanding 4-0 lead before half time.
Arsene Wenger – was celebrating his 1000th game with the team –needed something special to survive the defeat. Instead, Oscar doubled his tally, scoring the fifth goal before Mohamed Salah piled more misery on Arsen Wenger’s boysby netting the sixth goal.
Wayne Rooney’s first half brace saw Manchester United defeat West Ham United in Upton Park on the same day.Rooney outmuscled defender James Tomkin in the centre line and caught the goalkeeper out of the line with a half volley which bounced into the net.
Rooney added his second goal to become the third club to goal scorer, just behind Bobby Charlton and Denis Law with 249 and 237 apiece.
A hat-trick from Louis Suarez and brace from Martin Skrtel along with goals from Daniel Sturridge ensured that Livepool thrash struggling Cardiff City 6-3 at Anfield to their title hopes alive. Jordan Mutch’s brace along with Fraizer Campbell’s goal scored for relegation-threatened Cardiff.
Manchester City nderlined their Premier League title credentials in a 5-0 demolition of Fullham United encounter at the Etihad Stadium. Yaya Toure hat-trick along with goals from Martin Demichelis and Fernandinho ensured that Manuel Pellegrini’s boys maintain momentum.
Tottenham Hotspurs collected maximum points as they claimed a last minute 3-2 victory over Southampton on Sunday.
Christian Eriksen’s brace and a a stoppage time winner from Gylfi Sigurdsson were enough for Spurs to climb into the fifth place on the table.
