CHELSEA SCOOPS A POINT AT OLD TRAFFORD

It’s rare to see Manchester United FC disappoint at the Old Trafford, but last night they roughly lived up to their expectations against Chelsea FC.
Not that a team like Chelsea was expected to be a walk in the park for Manchester United, the latter team had not only the home advantage but also better scoring chances. Surprisingly, the match ended 0 – 0 for both teams.
Much credit should be given to the Blues’ solid midfield and defence that managed to hold off the Red Devils from triumphing.
Including John Terry and Frank Lampard in the starting eleven, Chelsea played without a striker for the most part of the game and Fernando Torres only came in the late stages of the 2nd half for the mouth butchered De Bruye who had a nasty lip cut in the first half.
Wayne Rooney was the Man-U playmaker and he had an amazing performance. Almost every chance which Man-U had, it came from the incredible Wayne Rooney.
Manchester United kept a ball possession of 58% and 42% for Chelsea. The Red Devils used the full length of pitch however they failed to reach their striker, Van Persie, thanks to the man of the match John Terry who completely cut off the Man-U striker from the game.
Oscar also had a great match for the Blues. He created good chances for his teammates but there was no one capable of finishing for Chelsea.
Both teams had some shots on target however, either the ball would be too soft or it would go into the goalkeepers’ hands.
Danny Welbeck made a disappointing miss in the 55th minute when he sent the ball wide whilst standing a few yards from the Chelsea gate and all the Man-U fans were petrified with his blunder.
The two teams had their moments but none could utilise them for attacking. Showing a good game of speed and agility, Manchester United and Chelsea settled for a draw.
Only Liverpool FC and Tottenhum Hotspur FC are still on a 3-point streak for this season’s Barclays Premier League.
