DUT HOPES TO KEEP WINNING STREAK

The Durban University of Technology’s ladies football team is hoping to maintain momentum and continue where they left off during the opening period of the season.
Two victories – of which they scored eleven goals and conceded just three – against UniZulu and the University of KwaZulu-Natal will be a major boast when they take on Mangosuthu University of Technology on Wednesday.
The mood and excitement at the practice showed that they are looking forward to next game. This was a good start for the ladies as there were new players introduced in the team during selection periods in the beginning of the year.
The new players have settled well and they play like they have known each other for a while with their fellow players. With such courage and much commitment, the coach is much happier with the determination her players have displayed.
All coaches want their players to be clinical in front of the goal and that’s what the ladies do best on the pitch.
However, not all players report to training due to heavy commitment of their school work. But the attendance from the girls is good enough for the coach to select her best candidates for the next match.
“We are so strong; the girls were just only a week away on holidays. I don’t think that will have much of a bad impact on our next game. We look to keep our winning streak,” said team manager, Nontobeko Mavundla.
“I have the best squad, I don’t really think any team could trouble us at the moment,” Mavundla added.
