Durban University of Technology scooped all three points when they defeat UKZN Howard College at Howard College Sport Ground on Wednesdays night.
DUT played out a one-all-draw away from home in their previous match against UKZN Westville College in their opening game of the season.
DUT took the lead in the 5th minutes when striker Lindokuhle “Casino” Kheswa scored from a corner.
The home team struggled as it was DUT that was dominating the match. It didn’t take long for DUT to increase their lead when Mthokozisi Zulu converted a through pass from Sabelo Duma to make it 2-0.Just before half time, Kheswa came back to scored with volley for his brace.
Two changes from the home team after half time changed the game as they were creating chance after chance but could not crack the DUT defence code.
Howard nearly scored in the 61st when striker Sandile Zwane released a shot but hit the cross bar.
A counter attack from DUT saw Zulu also grabbing his brace when he dribbled from the middle and unleashed a cracker to make it 4-0.
DUT coach Nhlanhla Mshibe was pleased with the team performance.
“We are delighted with the win and it shows that we came prepared enough for this match and I applaud the team performance,” said Mshibe.
Howard coach Zwelakhe Zondi said, “We played and DUT was far better than us, they combined well and they were the better side tonight.”
