GREEN MACHINE SUFFER LATE HOME DEFEAT

Glenwood High School suffered a last minute 22-20 home defeat in the hands of Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies) at Dixons rugby ground.
The men from Pretoria showed their intentions from whistle in the Saturday game.
The visitors opened the scoring in the second minutes of the match through a try from lock, Henk Pretorious with Ruan de Swart converting.
The green machine were handed a penalty and fly half Jerome Bossr took the sport kick to make it 7-3 to the home side.
Christian Strydom placed Affies in front again
with a try after a decent run on the left hand wing. De Swardt missed the conversion to stretch the lead. Affies took a 12-3 lead into the break.
Glenwood fly half, De Swardt, had opportunities to narrow the deficit before the interval with two penalties, but missed both.
The second half was a tight affair with both teams enjoying a greater percentage of possession and territory. Glenwood were on the back foot once again, this time the
damage being done by scrumhalf Divan Henning with Eddie Fouché converting.
Glenwood responded with two quick tries, one from Bossr and the other from Holtzhausen, with Bossr converting both of them to make it 19-17 with just 10
minutes to go.
Glenwood were awarded a penalty and Bossr took the responsibility to convert from the spot to give Glenwood a 20-19 lead, just when they thought they had it in the bag,
Affies were also awarded a last minute penalty, De Swardt, made it 22-20 to give his side a hard fought victory.
