KAIZER CHIEFS’ HANDS HIGH FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON

By: Sihle Ndebele
Following a dry campaign, Kaizer Chiefs have promised their fans to do better than they did in the last season.
Amakhosi failed to defend all their honours and that resulted in a trophy-less season- something unusual from the glamour club.
The club’s Public Relations Officer, Vina Maphosa said that it is imperative to improve their performance if they are to win titles this time around.
“We are a big club and everybody expects us to be on top of our game so I want to assure that we will try our utmost best to do well because last season we had an unconvincing season. The club wants to make the fans happy because we owe it to them as they have been faithful all along,’’ Maphosa said.
He also said that the club has learnt its lesson after ending last season empty handed and added that they will challenge for everything this campaign.
“We learnt many things last season and some of those things will help us be a better side this campaign. each and every player knows that we want to win every competition this season although we know that it will be very challenging but we will give all we have,’’ Maphosa said.
In the 2012-2013 season the Naturena based outfit launched a slogan- ‘’re-claiming the glory.’’
This season Maphosa said that they are yet to reveal their slogan but he vowed that fans will be happy about it.
“We are still working on it but am sure that each and every fan will be happy about it as they have been in the past,’’ he said.
Kaizer Chiefs will kick start their season against Mpumalanga Black Aces in the MTN 8 on 3 August 2014.
