KHANYISANI MAYO, A YOUNG STAR IN THE MAKING

A young South African U19 striker, Khanyisani Mayo, was named Player of The Tournament and also Top Goal Scorer of The Tournament in the Durban Under-19 International Football Tournament 2016 edition.
The 18-year-old scored eight goals for South Africa and his performance helped Amajita lift the tournament title.
Mayo who scored two goals in the final against the defending champions Arsenal from England is surely one of the great talents that South African has to look out for.
Mayo said he is very horned with all the achievement that he has mad.
“I’m so very appreciative to the almighty for the gift that he granted me with. Also want to thank my coaches that have been supporting me throughout the tournament as they were encouraging me all the time,” said Mayo.
Khanyisani who play his club football at Supersports United is a son of the former utility Kaizer Chiefs defender and Supersports striker.
Matsatsantsa striker was the crowd favourite throughout the tournament with his stunning performance which granted him love from the Durban supporters.
Mayo also said he want to follow his father footstep and hopefully going overseas.
“My dream it to go and play overseas and to represent Bafana Bafana in years to come and I believe with the supports from coaches, family and friends, I will achieve that goal,” added Mayo.
Sandile Mazibuko who is the head coach of Durban Football Club who attended all the matches for S.A. said KHanyisani will go beyond the achievements of the former Bafana Bafana striker Benny McCarthy.
“Mayo is a great player, he has all the qualities of playing internationally in the big leagues in Europe. I was very impressed with his talent including the goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto who show outstanding performance during the tournament,” said Mazibuko.
