LAHM, MULLER EXTEND CONTRACT WITH BAYERN

Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm and midfielder Thomas Muller have signed new contracts with the Bundesliga champions.
Defender Lahm, 30, has extended his deal with the German champions until 2018, while 24-year-old Muller’s contract will run until 2019.
The pair led Bayern to the top of the German Bundesliga with an astonishing 90 points, 19 points clear of second place Borussia Dortmund.
Lahm – who joined Bayern at the age of 11 and has been captain since 2011 – says he plans to stay for the rest of his career.
“This is definitely my last contract and I will end my career at Bayern Munich,” said Lahm. “That was always my wish and I’m delighted it has happened,” concluded Lahm in an exclusive interview with the German press.
He has played 313 Bundesliga matches and featured 85 times in the UEFA Champions League.
Muller, the top goal scorer at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 and was named the tournament’s best young player, also plans to finish his career with the Bavarian club. Muller had been linked with a move away from Bayern, with Manchester United one of the clubs vying for his signature
