Coach of Golden Arrows, Clinton Larsen, was awarded with the Coach of the Month Award for August and September at the Golden Arrows training ground in Durban.
Arrows, who have had a fantastic start to the season, find themselves in second place on the table 2 points Baroka.
Larsen remained humble on receiving the award saying that the award was for everyone who is involved at the club.
“We got a lot of people at the club that have made this possible; my support staff, my assistant coach and the entire technical team,” said Larsen
Larsen hopes that the award will motivate his players to try even harder to become successful.
“We’ll try keep on trying to do our best as a small club and be as competitive as we possibly can be, and keep working hard can be and hopefully we can be successful,” explained Larsen.
Larsen suggested that maintaining this good start will be extremely hard as the depth of the team will come into play as injuries in football are inevitable.
“Firstly we hope we can stay injury free because by staying injury free, it allows us to field our strongest team week-in-week-out and to make sure our feeder team is doing well. The challenge is always going to be the depth in the teams, the bigger teams are blessed in abundance with talent,” Larsen added.
With Bafana Bafana having two must-win World Cup qualifiers against Senegal in front of them, Larsen suggests that the challenge ahead is achievable.
“Senegal are beatable. I’ve looked at the last few games with the players I have been very impressed with the way the players have reacted to Stuart (Baxter),” ended Larsen.
Golden Arrows will next face Orlando Pirates on the 21st of November at the Orlando Stadium.
