MARITZBURG UNITED HOLDS U19 TRIALS

Maritzburg United searched for new talent through the under 19 trials at Harry Gwala Stadium, Pietermaritzburg on Saturday.
The evnt saw a turnout of over 400 young boys who packed the stadium to try their luck at making it to the professional level. With some people coming all the way from Gauteng Province, North West, Northern Cape and in other provinces, it was evident that many people took the trials seriously.
Nkazimulo Luthuli (18) who made it to the final round of the trials said that he came all the way from Port Elizabeth for the trial.
“I saw the post on the Maritzburg United Facebook page and my father motivated me to come here with hopes that I will make it to the team’s squad,” said the joyful Luthuli.
“It will be a dream come true if I made it to the team. It has always been my dream to play soccer at the professional level and I’m willing to push myself to get to that level,” concluded Luthuli.
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and now a current Team of Choice goalkeeper coach, Arthur Bartman said that he was amazed by the talent that he saw.
“It really is amazing to see the young players with so much talent and I believe that the players that we picked for the final round of trials are the best and for those who didn’t make it, unfortunately, we cannot take them all and better luck next time,” said Bartman.
The final round of the Maritzburg United under 19 trials will resume on the 2nd of July 2016 at Harry Gwala Stadium.
With the new season approaching, more Premier Soccer League temas will be looking forward to signing new players for the 2016/2017 season.
Kazier Chiefs also strengthened their squad by announcing the new eight players that will be joining the side for the upcoming season. Signings include Sbu Khumalo from Supersports united, Enocent Mkhabela, Edmore Chirambadare, Mitchell Katsvairo Lewis Macha, Rama Mphahlele, Keagan Buchanan and they also confirmed the promotion of Emmanuel Letlotlo.
