Netball South Africa now African champs
South Africa’s netball team, Spar Proteas have been crowned Africa’s champions last night at the Africa Netball Cup finals in Cape Town on Tuesday.
Proteas secured their victory with 72-53 against Zambia. Proteas maintained their unbeaten record throughout the nation’s cup.
On the semi-finals match, the Proteas easily knocked out Kenya with 71-36.
The Proteas went to the nation’s cup on a good form after having performed well at the Netball World Cup in Liverpool England earlier this year.
This victory has put South Africa on a good map as the International Netball Federation (INF) announced earlier this year that Netball South Africa has won the right to host the 16th Netball World Cup in 2023 and Cape Town is set to be the host city.
