#RWC2019: “We are up for the challenge” – Erasmus
The Springboks are set to face the Rugby World Cup host nation, Japan on Sunday afternoon in a fourth and final quarter–final match, in Tokyo.
Springboks coach, Rassie Erasmus has since reacted to the upcoming encounter, and has cited that he is satisfied by his squad’s world cup performance thus far.
“We were satisfied with the performance against Italy and we want to build on that.” Said Erasmus on the springboks website.”
“we have been improving and building momentum this season and we will be looking for further improvements this weekend. Japan are a well-coached team and have deservedly climbed to seventh in the world rankings. It’ll be a good challenge but we are up for it,” Erasmus added.
The Springboks are aiming to reach the Rugby World Cup semi-finals for the fifth time in seven appearances while, for Japan it is their first appearance in the play-off rounds at the ninth attempt.
South Africa’s quarter-final match with Japan kicks off 12:15pm on Sunday.
