SOWETO DERBY TICKETS SOLD OUT

The tickets for the eagerly anticipated MTN8 semi-final between Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have been sold out, Premier Soccer League said in a statement on Wednesday.
The two sides met in the same stage in the 2010/11 season of the competition and Buccaneers won that battle on an away goal rule.
In the first leg, Pirates held Amakhosi by a one all draw at home and the Buccaneers managed to score one goal away through Katlego Mashego in the last minutes of the game in the second leg. Since the cup was introduced in 2008, Pirates have won it twice in 2010/11 and 2011/12 season, meanwhile Amakhosi won the first ever MTN8 competition in 2008/09 season.The two giants will clash at the Orlando Stadium on Heritage Day, 24 September.
PSLCEO, Brand de Villiers said, “This is great news for the PSL and our partners, MTN. This shows that there is an overwhelming interest not only on this game but on the competition. Those without a ticket for this fixture will have to watch on television or purchase a ticket for the second semi-final between Bidvest Wits and Platinum Stars.”
Tickets for the second semi-final between Wits and Dikwena on the same day are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite. Just over 1 000 tickets are available said PSL. “As millions in our country will be celebrating the Heritage Day, we are looking forward to join the festivities when we host what I believe will be two thrilling fixtures on September 24. We are looking forward to delivering two great events at the Orlando Stadium and Bidvest Stadium,” de Villiers added.
In the first leg matches, Pirates defeated Amakhosi by 1-0 at the FNB Stadium while Wits hammered Stars by 4-2 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
The winners of both semi-finals will meet at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on September 28.
