After enduring a magnificent and successful season, the Sunfoil Dolphins have prompted their sponsors to extend their sponsorship on Monday.
The Willowton Group, which manufactures Sunfoil Pure Sunflower Oil, strengthened its partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union (KZNCU) by renewing its contract with the Durban-based franchise for another two years.
“The Dolphins sponsorship adds great value and has helped the Sunfoil brand stay top of hearts and minds with KZN consumers,” Sales and Marketing Director of Willowton Group Shoaib Moosa told reporters at a press conference held at Kingsmead Stadium.
“Two iconic and much loved KwaZulu-Natal brands will once again join forces to boost KZN’s provincial cricket heroes, the Dolphins, to new heights.
“The sponsorship has been part of a continued growth plan for the brand within KZN and has yielded good results, with consumers supporting the Sunfoil brand with as much passion and enthusiasm as they do their beloved Dolphins team.”
Moosa said the past three years have been successful and believes the future is certain with the club.
“With the success of the past season the renewed sponsorship is very much incentive and performance driven and we are very confident in the future of KZN cricket.
“The initial three years of the sponsorship have gone past so quickly with many great achievements including the Dolphins winning the T20 after many years without a trophy.”
Excited Dolphins Chief Executive Officer, Jesse Chellan said he’s sanguine that the club can add another silverwares to their cabinet.
“This is a good strategic fit and a powerful alliance of two dynamic organisations. We ended last season with expectations of more trophies from the Sunfoil Dolphins in the season ahead,” said Chellan.
KZNCU President, Faeez Jaffar said, “Both parties are winning brands and household names in the province. This special partnership has contributed towards the growth of the game.
“This special partnership has contributed towards the growth of the game. Willowton has always been closely involved in development and giving back to the people. This 2-year deal will enable us to take the game even further into the province.”
