THE ‘GAUTRAIN’ MIGHT CROSS THE OCEAN

Orlando Pirates midfielder, Tlou Segolela, has been offered trials by an unnamed English Championship club, after a superb performance for Bafana Bafana in an international friendly against Lesotho on Saturday.
He scored gracefully against Lesotho helping South Africa to secure a 2-0 win at a packed Setsoto Stadium in Maseru.
After rumors that Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing the player, reports came out that Pirates were keen to keep him. Tim Sukazi, Tlou’s representative, has revealed that Bucs have received an invitation from an unnamed Championship club, signed by the head coach, requesting that the player spend some time with them during the off-season.
On joining Chiefs, Sukazi said: “He is not joining Chiefs. Actually we have not been negotiating with local clubs. I know that a few local clubs are interesting in him, but we are looking to get him overseas.”
The only thing that can stand in the ‘Gautrains’ way is that, for the player to get a work permit at the UK, he must have played in 75% of his nation’s international games in the past two years.
Unfortunately ‘Sox’ hasn’t done that, but should he continue to perform as he did against Lesotho, it’s possible that he is going to be in Gordon Igesund’s plans.
Meanwhile, Bucs will lock horns with last year’s Confederation Cup winners, AC Leopards, at home for their first CAF Champion League group stage match in July. On the second game, they will travel to Egypt to face seven-times CAF champions Al Ahly in August. Then on the 17th in the same month, they will welcome Zamalek and meet again on the second leg on the month end.
In September, Bucs will first travel to Egypt to take on Zamalek and then make a trip to the DRC to face Leopards. They will also welcome Al Ahly for the final group stage match at home.
