VAN HEERDEN URGES SUPPORTERS TO RALLY BEHIND THE TEAM

AmaZulu FC defender, Marc van Heerden, has urged supporters to be patient and give the team support ahead of their home match against Mthatha Bucks on Sunday.
Van Heerden was speaking at a media briefing ahead of their National First Division encounter at Princess Magogo Stadium. The 27-year-old is adamant that support will
be vital in their journey back to the Premier Soccer League.
“Every successful team has a huge fan base so if we have our supporters there, it gives us the extra edge especially in home games and it comes to live when the
stadium is full.
I really urge them to come out singing and chanting because they need us as much as we need them. If we work together, we are bound to achieve our goal which is to get
back to PSL as soon as we possibly can,” said van Heerden.
The Johannesburg-born player is amongst the senior players at Usuthu that went down with side but opted to stay on despite interests from other clubs. The left back is
a free kick specialist and has two caps in the national teams.
Van Heerden said, “They are a lively team and they will want to bring that extra effort but we just have to focus and play to our strength. We will be taking the positives
from our last game and rectify one or two errors moving into this game.
We are going there to collect maximum points.”
Usuthu is currently sitting sixth on the log and will be looking to close the gap between them and log leaders, Baroka FC.
