The Premeir Soccer League has promised severe punishment for illegal MTN 8 ticket touts.
This was revealed to JournalismIziko by PSL spokesperson Lux September. September stated that those thinking of doing illegal businesses outside the stadium will definitely face the law.
“It is illegal for anyone to buy tickets with the intention to sell them. The police will be on the lookout to make arrests,” he said.
The tickets to the match between Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were sold out four hours after being made available to the public. The anticipated final, scheduled for 20th September at the iconic
Moses Mabhida is expected to be a clash to remember between these two giants.
A lot of football fanatics are disappointed they couldn’t get the tickets. They are complaining that some people bought tons of tickets with the purpose of re-selling them at a higher price. According to September, one person can purchase up to four tickets.
There were only 50 000 tickets made available and each was R80 but that did not deter the fans of the game.
September assured fans who will be at the stadium that their safety will be a priority. He promised that they have dealt with situations like this.
“The PSL will adopt a zero tolerance policy to fake tickets and those who will be selling the tickets to the ‘black’ market. All those will be arrested like we have made arrests in the past,” concluded September.
Fans were urged to come early to avoid delays on game day.
