Youngster Dlamini delighted with a first-team chance
Newlands West born, Mfan’fikile Dlamini has revealed his delight at finally cracking the first-team spot at Amazulu FC.
Dlamini, along with 3 others, Thamsanqa Nombika, Sphamandla Nene, and Sanele Gaxa from the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team have been added to the club’s squad preparing to take part in the last 6 games of the current league season.
Mfan’fikile, a former captain of the University Of KwaZulu-Natal in the Varsity Cup has expressed his gratitude at the opportunity afforded to him by the first team coach. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Community Development, he now intends to make the jump to the Premier Soccer League.
“Words cannot describe the feeling, I’ve been through a lot and even missed a couple of opportunities to go abroad because of school but that’s a story for another day,” he said.
“I’m trying hard to adapt and absorb the pressure of training with the big guns,” said Dlamini while speaking to the club’s website,” added Dlamini.
He says that he knows this is where everything starts, He is overly encouraged to work five times harder. He will not let this feeling pass him by and is enjoying every minute of it.
“People who know me know how much this means to me. I will be forever grateful to AmaZulu for this opportunity, it is something I will cherish for the rest of my life”. He further added.
