Reservoir Sports Club donating food hampers
Reservoir Hills Sports & Recreation Club (RHSRC) has made hamper distributions to 70 families who live in under privileged families during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The RHSRC felt this was an important time to help underprivileged communities who have been deeply affected by this pandemic especially young children who depend on adults for food.
“We have realized that adults will somehow fend for themselves. We have diverted our focus to concentrate on feeding the children from these underprivileged communities. A young child cannot go out and find food or change the situation in anyway,” said the Recreation Club.
To date the RHSRC has successfully fed six informal settlements with a freshly prepared hot meals or sandwiches. One of those people who received a hot meal was Sindiswa Nxumalo who lives in a hostel at Kwa Mashu.
“This pandemic affected me deeply because I did not even have a permanent job. I was just a temporary packer and I was not sure where my next meal would come from. I really appreciate the Reservoir Sports Club for doing this,” said Nxumalo.
The RHSRC thanked all those who have assisted, and are continuously looking for assistance from individuals and corp-orates to ensure the program is sustained.
