KZN tragic accident claims 13 lives
A tragic accident in the Northern KwaZulu-Natal has claimed the lives of at least 13 people on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened on the R34 Mthonjaneni pass between Ulundi and Melmoth around 08:30 on Wednesday morning. The accident involved a taxi that was heading to Durban from Nongoma and a truck that was traveling towards Vryheid from Melmoth.
At least 13 people died including an unborn baby and four critically injured, the truck driver also died in the crash. The province has seen quite a few accidents happen on major roads.
Last month a truck driver died in Pinetown after his truck crashed into four cars including a police vehicle before crashing into a house. There was also the accident that took place on the N3 near Pavilion on Stapleton road.
On October 9, a crash in Ladysmith claimed the lives of four people, when the bokkie rolled on the S61 near Besters.
Also, on October 10, 12 members of the Mndeni family were killed, when the taxi they were traveling in crashed down an embankment between Underberg and Bulwer.
