At at interview on Newzroom Afrika, Manyi said they were not asking the poor for a donation, but instead, they were asking from those who are willing and can donate.
Imagine donating R1000 while his children are living in luxury and his house is worth more than your families belongings combined. For years he made sure his friends and family were taken care of while the black child were stil using pit toilets. Strip them of the dignity. Tsek

” We’re asking from people who are willing and able to contribute. That call made by the foundation is not directed at poor people or the unemployed. However, we know Jacob Zuma has strong support from the villages. We’re saying to the villagers out there, even if you have a goat, donate a goat. Even if you have a sheep, donate a sheep or cow, whatever you want to donate from the goodness of your hearts would be welcome. There is no minimum amount that we’re requesting.”
In addition, Manyi has stated that they did not approach any family person, including the Gupta family, to
ask for financial assistance.
“We have just done what we did on social media. We threw our net wide, hoping the people of the world will
come to the party because they can see that President Zuma is one person that has been prosecuted without trial.” Manyi concluded.
