Small businesses affected by unrest to get support
The South African Economic Reconstruction and Recovery (SAER) has launched a registration portal to help small, and
medium businesses that were affected by the July unrest in the KwaZulu-Natal(KZN) and Gauteng provinces register for support.
According to SAER, the government loss registration portal will provide a single entry point for businesses to indicate losses suffered by the businesses in the area, and the data collected through the portal will be kept secure and will be used to improve the delivery support measures being administered through the various national and provincial government entities.
The portal will be accessible via link and portal code ,the option of calling the SAER call center during weekdays is also going to be available.
“A range of measures are being implemented by national departments and provincial governments to help uninsured businesses who suffered damages or loss to rebuild. The businesses will be allowed to register until the 30 September” said SAER.
According to SAER, the applicants will be expected to show proof of damages when applying for the relief support fund.
