The Cheshire homes asking for diapers
The Cheshire Homes Sparks Estate in Sydenham is in urgent need for the donation of adult diapers.
The home caters for the mentally and physically disabled adults and children. The home has 48 old people and with only 90 diapers to last them until the end of the month. Home manager Rodger Gangadoo said the diapers are changed three times a day and are in high demand.
“We make a special appeal to all those who care, to please help us by donating adult diapers, the size urgently needed is extra-large for our residents”, said Gangadoo.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic Gangadoo suggests people to deposit their donations.
“We humbly ask if preferable to deposit the donation into the account rather than dropping off diapers at the home. We have to limit people visits in order to protect our residence against Covid-19 infections.”
He said that those who prefer dropping their donations are welcome to sanitise and drop off their donations at the entrance.
“Diapers will be received by a caregiver under strict Covid-19 protocols. The address is Cheshire Homes Sparks Estate, 145 Mary Road, Sydenham,” he added. For account details, contact 031 209 2852.
