67 MINUTES IN A DRUG AWARENESS CAMPAIGN WITH DURBAN ARTISTS

People around Durban used the Mandela spirit to raise their campaign against drugs which seemed to have taken of in the city.
Many people spent their 67 minutes on former president, Nelson Mandela’s birthday in an event seeking to bring back the those affected by drugs.
Albert Park ward 32 is the most affected area, with high drug abuse and criminal acitivity that finger points straight to the street hobo. Which, there has been a high increase in Khuzimpi Shezi Park otherwise known as “Whoonga Park”.
The KwaZulu Natal Department of Community Safety and liaison, Ukhozi fm and Izwi Lomzansi also featured artists like Dj Sox, Tzozo and others attended this Mandela day event to spend their 67 minutes talking to the hobo’s and also showcasing with their talents.
Dj Sox addressed the people by telling them this “I too was a victim of drugs I recently celebrated a year without drugs after being in rehab. Drugs are a disease that can be healed depending on you. Let us take this information and use it’’.
He then took the stage and lightened up the mood his sound made everyone shake to their knees. He proved that he still has his talent even though he was also victimised by drugs.
Victor “Bhut Maswidi” Xaba from Izwi Lomzansi fm told the people that there is help available as they are willing to fight this problem.
Tzozo is another artist that took the stage with his talent and songs that made everyone dance again. As there were different speakers music and performers were able to lighten up the mood and make the event enjoyable for everyone who was there.
Drugs survivors also talk the people about the dangers of drugs Khayelihle Gumbi is one of those survivors that motivated the people.
