VODACOM DURBAN JULY AT ITS BEST AND EVEN BETTER

As usual celebrities, fashion designers and fashion lovers came guns blazing at this year’s Vodacom Durban July.
Extraordinary does not even begin to explain some of the garments people wore. Themed the ‘colour of magic’ the proof was in the pudding. Everything was magical!
One of the Durban University of Technology’s fashion student, Katekani Moreku who was shortlisted and a finalists under the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer category, came at number one defeating nine other finalists in the competition.
Durban fashion designer and makeup artist, Prince Nsibande of Inxulumakazi Creation, also took the number one spot under the Female Category.
“It is fantastic and wonderful to see my designs in the top 15. I thank God because really, if I looked around and I see all those who entered, about 100 of people who entered and they are all good,” said Nsibande.
South Africa’s IT girl Minnie Dlamini looked beautiful in a white Gert Johan Coetzee gown and she was excited to be at the event as much as being home.
“It has been an absolutely incredible day here at the race course. There is so much fun here at the Vodacom Durban July and we’ve seen some incredible fashion and some really cool people. The Durban July is always the fun place to be and it is so great to be home,” said Dlamini.
Public figure Somizi Mhlongo wore Zarth Designs by Durban based fashion designer Zama Mathe, who also showcased her designs at the VDJ main fashion show.
Actress Dineo Moeketsi looked incredibly beautiful in a pink gown by the famous two-some designers Quiteria and Goerge.
Fashion designer Irene Nolan said that they just placed best couple. She was so excited and proud of her twin sister and business partner Catharine Nolan. Marine said that she was proud of herself and most importantly she was proud of their designs.
