Chelsea FC was victorious once again in a 2 – 1 defeat over Aston Villa at the Stamford Bridge Stadium on Wednesday.
An early goal in the 5th minute saw Chelsea take the lead as Eden Hazard made an amazing shot from a through pass supplied by Oscar; the keeper saved it but it deflected on a defender and it scored for an own goal.

Christian Benteke equalised for Villa in additional time before halftime to make it 1 – 1. He stopped the ball with his right foot and placed it far to the left post with his left foot; Peter Czech could not reach the ball.
Chelsea came back with momentum in the second half. It dominated most of the game but Benteke managed to sneak in a cross for Aston Villa from the right side of the pitch and Czech saved Andreas Weimann shot on the 64th minute.
The tables were turned when Chelsea made a double substitution in the 67th minute. Romelu Lukaku came in for Demba Ba and Andre Shurrle came in for Juan Mata.
After a failed attempt that ended as a free kick, Frank Lampard made a delightful delivery and Branislav Ivanovic super headed the ball into the back of the net.
The Blues maintained a 57% – 43% ball possession until the final whistle blew. They are now on top of the Barclays Premier League log.
