New local app, Eloh to save businesses during COVID-19
Eloh App to provide with all necessary services in the comfort of your home.
The uber of all things Eloh app that was launched in March 2020 is giving hope during this pandemic. This digital platform that connects customers to the nearest best professional service provider from the comfort of their homes is adapting to the new norm. The founder of Eloh app, Sanele Mhlongo says that, “What pushed me to implement my idea was the unprofessional service I got when I moved to my new premises. The high unemployment rate of graduates in this country.”
The app verifies the service provider by doing a background check which includes criminal record, certain documents are requested, and this takes 4- 5 days. Furthermore, it has an emergency button, should a customer or service provider be in trouble they can instantly call the police. Mhlongo further explained that the app has the card payment only, to protect both service providers and customers from scams.
“We have a policy to protect customer and service provider. There are reviews and ratings on the app,’’ He said. The app is only available in KwaZulu- Natal however plans of expansion are on the table Mhlongo said.
Mhlongo started this app with a goal to improve employment rates, give people a chance to be able to work. Save businesses from shutting down during this pandemic. Mhlongo says that, “What made me happy was to see a spa hiring more people because of this app, instead of shutting down due to COVID-19.”
